Masked Makeup Looks

Now, you might be thinking you’ve never been a “bold eye” gal, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start! Here are my top tips to rocking the bold eye look:
Choose a bright color that suits your skin tone and eye color. To do this, look at the color wheel and choose a color that is on the opposite side of the wheel from your eye color. For example, blue eyes could go with browns, champagnes, gold, or bronze to best get that “pop” effect. Green eyes pair best with colors like rust or bronze. Brown eyes are the most versatile and can truly pop with almost any hue! Warm tones will complement warmer skin tones, but look more dramatic on cooler skin tones. Play around with colors that complement your eye color to find what you like best!
Liquid eyeshadows can make the bold look much easier! Look for one with a sponge-tipped applicator as I’ve found those tend to be the easiest to apply and make customizing your color the easiest. Blend out the color for a “softer” look or build up the color for a more intense, color-saturated look.
If sticking with one color isn’t really your thing or you want something even more dramatic, choose a graphic eyeliner or shape your liner with a “winged” shape! You could also play around with shimmery shadows or create a “patterned” look with your eyeshadow. The opportunities are truly endless.
One of my favorite benefits of going with a bold eye look is the effect it has on my mood. Getting glammed up and taking a few moments to make myself a priority lifts my spirits and makes me feel like a new woman. So, even if you don’t think you’re a “bold eye” kinda girl, I challenge you to play around with a few fun looks this week! Do it for you!
